How to use
the Choozatron
The Choozatron is designed to help you rank the things you need (or want) to do in order of priority.
I built it to complement my Little Big Plan marketing needs-analysis tool. I made it with micro charities and organisations in mind, but anyone can use it to get unstuck when priorities are unclear.
How it works
The Choozatron uses the idea of Paired Comparisons to weigh different choices against each other.
- Input each of the different items for prioritisation (two or more; you'd find it hard to compare one against itself).
- When you've added all your items, click 'Start'.
- Your chosen items will be presented back to you at random, two at a time, until all combinations have been exhausted (you will never see the same pair twice).
- For each pair, you must choose which is more important than the other.
- When all the comparisons have been made, your items will be ranked by how often they won a comparison.
- You can save these scores to your device or copy them to paste somewhere else.
Tips
- “Oh no, it's a tie!”
If you end up with a tie, you can keep going until you have one clear ‘winner’. - Use it as a compass
Don't worry about getting a 'perfect' answer – the point is to get a better idea of which direction to head in for now. You can return to it at any time to refine your direction even further. - Involve colleagues
You will get a much more helpful result from the Choozatron if you can use it in collaboration with colleagues, where each comparison is discussed and agreed by the team.
